There are some ( a lot ) of people who shy away from evangelism. They might be unsure of what they believe because of their own doubts. OR they are afraid the message will not be received well. But your job is not to save people.
Acts 4:12 International Children’s Bible (ICB)
12 Jesus is the only One who can save people. No one else in the world is able to save us.”
Evangelism is every believers responsibility. You don’t have to be a preacher. Look at the second part of the definition:
the spreading of the Christian gospel by public preaching or personal witness.
It is not ours to worry about the outcomes. We are too live out the gospel. And we are to be witnesses and share our faith. That may be with a family member who is unsaved. It might be with a co-worker or neighbor who is panicked about the virus.
We have a comfort. We have a comforter that the world needs right now.
Years ago this article came out:
Apr 04, 2015 · Not long ago, magician and all-around entertainer, Penn Jillette asked, “How much do you have to hate somebody to not proselytize? How much do you have to hate somebody to believe everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?” Jillette, a professed atheist, surprised many with his questions on proselytizing.
We know that no matter what happens with covid19 we have a savior who offers us, and the world, everlasting life.
Why would we not want to give the opportunity for peace and salvation to others?
We don’t save. Jesus does through the Holy Spirit. We plant, water, tend to. The Holy Spirit harvests.
Step out of comfort today. Is there one person you know that needs to hear they have a choice at life eternal and complete forgiveness, restoration with God?
I encourage you to pray for courage, let go of the outcome, and share with that person today.
Until Next Time~
