Our Purpose is Simple

1 Peter 2:9 You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the phrases of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.

Do you see the word “that”? 

It could be replaced with the words “in order that”. 

We have been set aside to praise the name of God, to declare His mighty and great and awesome deeds.

So many people are looking for their purpose. Right here is our purpose , or one of them: to bring glory to God.

How great is He?
He is higher than we can imagine. He expands beyond the farthest galaxies in the ever-growing universe. Nothing is stagnant in Him. Everything is yes and Amen.

God you are beyond all my comprehension. I desire to know you, to submit to you and to serve you all the days of my life.

Why did you even choose me? I do not know.

I see the flaws…you see the faith as small as a mustard seed and you call it good.

What an honor it is to serve you and to be called your daughter. Although you are greater than any earthly parent you love each of us tenderly and uniquely as if each one of us is your very favorite.

With that love comes a responsibility to walk in the light and to not linger in the darkness. No longer are we slaves to sin and deception. We have hope, goodness, and true joy.

We are called to be different; to stand out in this world– which is not easy. There are many good people in the world…but we are not called to just be good people. We are called to be Holy and wholly different with a message of pure delight to the ears ready and willing to receive it. The message is this– that salvation is available to all.

We just need to come before the throne, repent, and accept your son as our savior. You then will walk with us and transform our ways into the holy priesthood of believers to which we belong.

May we glorify you daily. 

Almighty you are our everything. May your name ever be praised.
