Like Scrooge, I need to have the chains released from me. But I’m not a fictional character, and so it isn’t easy. Turning to God each time I try to fit myself back into the chains is the only way I know to find release. Perhaps I’ll learn to turn to him always.

So true. There will be times when it can be challenging to really make an honest effort to just let it go.
