Returning to the God of Christianity; and what I learned, experienced, dabbled in, and repented of to come home to Jesus.

—

It has been a couple years since I posted on Encouraging-Grace…I mean REALLY posted: something beyond “motivational quotes”. Even those I set up 9 months in advanced at least.

In the year or more leading up to March of 2023, I was backsliding in direct sin and opening myself up to New Age. It was subtle and probably started with American Culture decades ago that seeped into the Church at large in the guise of “New Thought” (more on that later).

From March 23- July 22 I was at a Christ centered recovery center. Some of the things I had begun believing I dropped. Some were just repackaged in Christian terms.

Back at home 6 weeks later, after MUCH prayer for protection in regards to my housing and day-to-day life, a VERY distressing and dangerous situation occurred and I was unable to remain in my beautiful apartment, in my town with my job 3 blocks away, with the friends and support of the church I had been in for 5 years. I ended up 80 some miles away with strangers– where I was safe, clean & sober, but did not think I had anything to live for… That was September 15, 2023.

I was ANGRY at God!!!! And being in a 12-step program, I was assured I could have ANY higher power I wanted. So … I rejected God/Jesus and the Bible out of anger and resentment of how life had played out– in spite of my prayers, anointing, speaking in tongues, asking for God’s protection.

I surrendered my life and will back to Jesus and God Almighty in February 2026 because when I cried out (during encounters with the demonic) HE came through in unmistakable ways to get my attention and bring me back to Him.

I am now rebuilding. Some things have returned — some ideas must be uprooted and re-aligned.

I know I am to re-start this blog…I just don’t know exactly what it will look like AND I am not going to worry about that right now.

I will be sharing my story– I am not sure if it will be in narrative straight through — OR if it will be through new pieces I write topically.

If you have read this far, Thank you. Please feel free to comment or write to me regarding anything past or ongoing. I’d love to hear from you.

  3. Will be praying for you. The enemy hates it when we turn back to the Lord. I took a long sabbatical from blogging. Health stuff. But am really loving engaging with others in the blogging world. Especially with fellow Christ followers.

    1. Thank you SO much! YES– I have seen “fall out” from when people return– and unfortunately, I was used against our faith MANY times…so the enemy had a ace he is NOT going to want to let go easily. SO YES– please pray. I have a lot to set straight in the damage and questioning I contributed or outright caused. I can only do so with the guidance and by the strength of the Holy Spirit.

I would also ask your prayers for my son. He too has a calling but I have seen the enemy go after him when I am no longer doing the enemies bidding.

      1. God is able. Will lift you both up to Him.
