How quickly I forget the words given to me by God! That is why He has provided Scripture so we can continually turn to it and meditate upon it during stressful times.
I am walking through life allowing circumstances that started to unravel last Thursday night. At risk is any kind of relationship with my adult son, possibly where I will live, my job, my security, and possibly needing to move away (for physical safety reasons) from people who love, care, and mentally/emotionally support me.
I am powerless over anything to do further in this matter. Authorities are involved, though moving slowly.
I have been burdened with fear.
But the Bible says to take every thought captive. This is mine too do while God interacts however He chooses to do that all things work towards good.
Ultimate good doesn’t mean it’s gonna FEEL good along the way!
I am safe right now.
At risk is a possible complete dismantling of my life based on what my son, who has mental illness and is under complete duress – and on an angry binge– well his choices are out of my control but… Yes he can hurt me every way but spiritually right now.
A few weeks ago I was given a direct word of prophecy out of the blue by a pastor who was actually in the middle of a class on something else. He suddenly stopped and told me what was coming across his heart very strongly right that moment. (I had never seen him stop a class like that previously).
Prophecy was not detail specific but was about God and good He was bringing about in my life.
Ya know God told Moses that He would use Moses to set God’s people free. But each plague must have been terrible and tempting to doubt and discouragement. Leaving Egypt as freed people yet then seeing the enemy come after them and knowing they were blocked… Must have felt terrible and caused horrible anxiety.
What I’m getting at is:
God tells us things will ultimately work out for good but He doesn’t say how quickly nor does He promise the path won’t include feelings of fear and issues of sadness that we have to mentally deal with.
If you too are going through tough times:
Pray for wisdom and discernment. Pray for peace and God’s presence. Stay connected to other believers and transform your mind continually with His word. This is our part. The results are up to God.
Until Next Time, Blessings. Kate
