God Is Waiting For You

My heart has heard you say, “Come and
talk with me.” and my heart responds,
“Lord, I am coming.” -Psalm 27:8 NLT

I think this whisper from God is on repeat…but I do not slow down to hear it. How beautiful it is though that God would say to us “Come talk with me.”

Rest. It reminds me of rest. The ability to slow down and release my burdens. I, as the anxious child, need only reply “Lord, I am coming.”

What would you tell God if you just entered his presence right now, curled up with him, and opened up completely without watching the clock? Would it be more of the same things you talked to him about this morning, or last night? Or, if you slowed down, are there other cares that lay dormant in your mind and soul that you need to release and share with the Almighty?

“Come and talk with me.” He is waiting for you.

Until Next Time~
Blessings, Kate

  1. When we became homeless, I renewed a habit of walking around at night and talking with God. During this time period, my cat would walk along with me and eventually other cats in the area would join in. Over 2 months I was a herder of cats, but the main thing I learned aside from patience is the joy of speaking with God person to person. It is a crime to pray to God as if to an impersonal council, or a vending machine that gives us what we want after plugging in the required number of prayers.
Come, says the Spirit and the Bride. Our future is being in conversation with each other and our God forever. I tell folks, it is time to get the process started here. Jesus himself spoke this way to The Father.
Thanks Kate! I enjoyed using your post as a devotional this morning.
Your prompt is most needful in my life at this point, and for many others I’m sure.
    Laters,
    Peace in him, out.

    1. I was away without internet when this posted by schedule so I did not see your response until today..
      I pray you are well.
You must have had inner peace even though in rough circumstances for the cats to enjoy your presence.
      God is good.
I pray your circumstances have improved or will soon.
      Blessings

  2. Amen! Kate, this testament speaks to me. There are times when I need to turn off the noise around me and find a quiet place to spend time with God.
